Prince William Co, VA – Serious Injury Crash from Police Pursuit on I-95 near Edsall Rd Exit

August 8, 2025 by NeedinjuryLva

Prince William Co, VA (August 8, 2025) – A high-speed police chase on Wednesday night, August 6, ended violently near the 158-mile marker on Interstate 95, resulting in serious injuries to two innocent drivers. The incident escalated from a traffic stop attempt to a dangerous pursuit through multiple jurisdictions.

The suspect, 22-year-old Cameron D. Teach from Henrico, fled from Virginia State Police after being pulled over for speeding around 10:30 p.m. The chase reached speeds over 100 mph as Teach drove northbound on I-95 and I-395. Near the Edsall Road (Exit 2A) off-ramp, Teach lost control, causing his car to go airborne and crash into another vehicle.

The second vehicle carried two Springfield residents who suffered serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Teach was trapped in his wrecked Honda and had to be extricated by rescue crews. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Teach faces felony charges including eluding police and reckless driving. Additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.

Emergency responders secured the scene, and the off-ramp was temporarily closed for cleanup and crash reconstruction.

We send our heartfelt wishes for a full and speedy recovery to the innocent victims injured in this tragic crash.

High-Speed Police Chase Crashes in Northern Virginia

High-speed police pursuits pose a serious threat to public safety, especially on busy highways like I-95 and I-395 in Northern Virginia. These chases often end in devastating crashes that injure innocent drivers who are not involved in the suspect’s actions.

Speeding over 100 mph in congested areas greatly increases the risk of loss of control and severe collisions. The crash near Edsall Road highlights the dangers of reckless driving during pursuits, where attempts to evade law enforcement can lead to airborne crashes and multi-vehicle impacts.

Victims of such crashes face long recoveries and significant medical expenses. They may also experience emotional trauma and financial difficulties due to lost income and ongoing care needs.

When injuries result from a fleeing suspect’s reckless driving, the legal situation becomes complex. Victims may pursue compensation through civil lawsuits, while the suspect faces criminal charges. Navigating these processes often requires experienced legal support.

Law enforcement agencies continually review pursuit policies to balance public safety with stopping dangerous drivers. However, once a crash happens, victims need immediate medical attention and legal guidance to protect their rights.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a crash caused by a police pursuit, you don’t have to face it alone. Local Accident Reports can help connect you to vital resources, including medical referrals and experienced personal injury attorneys.
